I came in knowing I had financial goals but with no real sense of how to organise them. The worksheet exercise in the Goal-Setting Workshop genuinely helped me put things in order. I left with something on paper I could actually act on — not just ideas in my head. The facilitator was patient and did not rush us at all.

Joined the Goals Toolkit & Community after a friend recommended it. The progress wall feature is something I was sceptical about at first — I am not usually one for sharing — but actually seeing others post their milestone updates made me more consistent with my own. The tools are good and practical. I would have liked a bit more structure in the onboarding.

The Goal Mastery Programme was a bigger commitment but I am glad I signed up for the full thing. The session on sequencing goals — working out what has to happen before what — was the most useful for me. I had always thought about my goals individually, not in order. That shift alone changed how I plan. The certificate is a nice extra too.

Really appreciated that Budgio does not try to sell anything in the session. I have been to financial events where half the time you feel like a sales target. Here it was genuinely just about goal-setting. The printed worksheet card is simple but I have been using it since — it sits on my desk as a reminder.

I attended the half-day workshop mainly to see if it would be worth doing the longer programme. It was well-paced and practical. I think I expected more theory but it was almost entirely hands-on, which I preferred. Signed up for the Mastery Programme afterwards.

The community space in the Toolkit membership is what keeps me going back to my goals. I check in once a week — it is about ten minutes — and seeing the posts from other members makes the whole thing feel less solitary. I was not sure about the idea of sharing progress publicly but the tone here is very supportive, not competitive.

Participant Journeys

Siti Aisyah — Goal-Setting Workshop
Young professional, Petaling Jaya
CHALLENGE
Had three different financial goals she wanted to work toward simultaneously — a home deposit, a travel fund, and an emergency cushion — but no idea which to prioritise or how to make realistic progress on any of them at once.
APPROACH
Attended the half-day Goal-Setting Workshop and used the milestone-mapping exercise to clarify each goal separately, then worked with the facilitator to sequence them in a realistic order based on timeline and dependency.
OUTCOME
Left the session with a completed trail map and a clear first step for each goal. Three months later, she reported progressing consistently on her emergency fund — the first milestone she had flagged.
"I stopped trying to do everything at once and it actually started working."
Lim Chee Wai — Goal Mastery Programme
Small business owner, Subang Jaya
CHALLENGE
Running a small business made personal financial planning difficult to separate from business cashflow thinking. Goals kept shifting and there was no consistent approach to reviewing whether plans were still relevant.
APPROACH
Enrolled in the full Goal Mastery Programme over six weeks. The goal review module in the final weeks was particularly useful — it gave him a structured way to revisit and adjust goals as circumstances changed.
OUTCOME
Completed the programme and received a certificate of attendance. Now has a template-based review habit set up quarterly. Found the sequencing module particularly valuable for separating business and personal goal thinking.
"The sequencing session changed how I think about planning entirely."
